Xbox child account live gamer tag creation

Hi ,

when my child tries to create a game tag / Xbox live account using his Microsoft account on a pc there is a problem.

when he is asked to get permission from a parent I type in my email then my Microsoft password - next - then a page appears with 'URL not recognised' error message. Which must be embedded in the link on Microsoft website...

As a result I cannot create this Xbox live account on my sons Microsoft account,

Please help as purchased games require this to sign in and use them. - there must be a work around or way to do this via my account??

If should be, but I have never tried it so I cant confirm if it will or wont work.

Try temporarily disabling the parental controls on his account and then try again. If it works, enable the parental controls again. If it doesn’t work, try using the Microsoft Edge browser.

Are both accounts set to USA? I have had issues with the account I created in Canada then I created my child account while living in the US. Issues galore and no apparent fix without closing my pre 1992 account.
