    So i posted earlier about my headset mic not working and i came to the conclusion that I needed an adapter. I bought a new xbox chatpad with a 3.5 mm headphone jack. The pad works great and im happy with it, but it refuses to detect my headset. The mic
    and the headset dont work. I have an original xbox controller so i cant plug the headphone adapter into the controller. (I have a pad with a foldable jack on it) i was wondering if i need a controller with a jack included in order to use this, or am i just
    missing something?

    Hi

    The two headsets that you have listed above have 3.5mm jacks on them that will connect to all Xbox One controllers that have the 3.5mm jack. If you have an earlier level controller without the 3.5mm jack port then you will require the headset adapter or
    chatpad below.

    Sorry to hear it. There's a nifty video at this link https://www.amazon.com/Xbox-Chatpad-Chat-Headset-plugs-directly/dp/B0136JPA56 that
    talks about how the chatpad/headset combo works.

    At the bottom right of your keypad you should see a mic symbol with a line through it. Press it and see if that helps. It could also be that the headset jack is not seated properly in the chatpad. Pull out the jack and push it back in firmly to see if
    that works.

    As far as I know, all of the official Microsoft Xbox One controllers have the same physical size, shape and port on the bottom to connect to either a Microsoft Chatpad or Stereo Headset Adapter.

    The Chatpad can be used to type messages and can even have various keys assigned in games like War Thunder that allow custom binding controls.
