Xbox Chat issue not able to talk but can hear

    just a regular mic issue that I can't seem to fix, bought a new mic controller updated and I can hear I just can't talk

    Do I need a skype account to talk on party chat?

    On the XBOX-One I can get into party chats, but I cant hear anyone talking, or I cant talk. Do I need to get a skype account to be able to hear and talk to my friends in the party chat?

    XBOX One Chat Issues -

    I'm having an issue with chat with one person. Seem to be able to chat ok with all other people.

    We can chat if we are in Party Chat, but not in game chat. When in game chat with other players,we can both hear and talk to the other players but we cannot hear each other.

    In a party chat, then we can talk to each other ok only if I am using the headset plugged into the 3.5 mm jack on the controller. If I use the headset adapter then it doesn't work.

    I've tried a lot. We both have Open NATs.

    You need to change that in the console settings, audio, first collum chat output, headset or both depending on what you are looking

    I said across all games and i cant update a headset, being a Microsoft headset makes no difference. My controller is up to date

    Would you please provide us with further information regarding this matter.

    • Does this happen in only one game or all of the games?
    • Have you tried updating the headset as well as your controller?
    • Is the headset is a Microsoft one?
    This clarification would aid in allowing us to provide the proper troubleshooting for this situation.

    Would you please check if the sound configured in the Xbox to go to speakers or to Headset. You can check by going to System > Settings > General > Volume & audio output. From there you'll be able to check output and chat mixer. See if any of those settings might be preventing audio from coming through the headset.
