Xbox changed my name..

They changed my name after 2 months because it was inappropriate. Fair call but why should i have to pay again when I've had friends that have been able to change it for free? bit of a joke if you ask me, had this account for 7+ years now and i cop this..
pissed of is an understatement. anyone else copped this?

Gamertag name change

Hello,

My name is Vagine Prabjhot and I just changed my Xbox LIVE account name yesterday. I believe my name has been reported and my account name now changed. I just paid $9.99CAD + tax. Why my account name has been changed is unknown to me. I did not read in
the Xbox LIVE rules that you can not use your name in your gamertag.

Xbox name changed

I logged on today to find my xbox live gamertag was changed to a seemingly random name. I'm assuming my name was reported since it was
[Mod Removed]. Is there a way I can appeal this? I had my gamertag since 2008 or 2009, and it wasn't offensive then (no one knew about Ebola until this year). If anything if I am forced to change my name I shouldn't have to pay 10 dollars since I couldn't
anticipate it being offensive years down the road.

 

It's like that for all forced name changes now, and has been for a while, that you are given an auto-generated GT and if you want something of your own choosing you will need to pay for it like any other Gamertag change.
