Xbox change - remove email

Thank you for taking the time to post this on the Xbox Forums. We understand that you are currently attempting to configure your account.

Your Microsoft account is an amalgamation of different services [Xbox, Windows, Bing, Skype, Outlook, etc.] and therefor is permanently associated with those services.

As per
this article: "When removing an email alias that’s a Microsoft domain (such as @Outlook.com, @Live.com, or @Hotmail.com), that email is completely deleted from our systems and can no longer be used to send or receive emails. It won’t be available
for use again as an alias on another account. Microsoft does not recycle email addresses, so it may not be reclaimed at a future time."

I hope this was able to clarify any confusion this might have caused.

unfortunately email accounts with Microsoft domains (Hotmail, Outlook, Live, etc) can't be unlinked from Xbox profiles

thanks for the help but I don't want to delete the email forever as I use it for work is there any other way of doing it?

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you are trying to change email. Unfortunately, you are unable to change an email that is the same domain. The two you are using are both Microsoft emails. Also an important note: If you change and remove
a Microsoft email the email will then be deleted and unable to be used. So if you use the email for anything other than Microsoft/Xbox we recommend not removing or changing it. Here is guide for
