Xbox cash balances in different currencies.

Hi everybody. Just enquiring if anyone has had a similar problem to me when moving around buying Xbox cash gift cards from other countries and how they got around it. In the last few years I've lived in the UK where I opened the Xbox account; then moved
to the US and now back in Ireland. I've got a few spare pennies in GBP but not enough to buy anything with so I've written that off. My problem is my USD. I've migrated accounts before and switched primary consoles and the like so I'm used to that but that
isn't fixing the issue.

My problem is that my Xbox account has a US Xbox gift card balance that would be handy right now that was never spent whilst there and but it seems like there's no way of using it in Republic of Ireland, it tells me my balance in EUR is empty and therefore
I can't purchase anything. Has anyone "fixed" this to purchase DLC using non-native currency, is there something I might not be doing or is it one of those things I should just chalk up to experience? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Depends on where you live.Different currencies for different regions.

How is this a bad idea you can use your power up card CASH BALANCE CASH BALANCE ON XBOX LIVE MARKETPLACE HOW IS THAT STUPID BETTER THAN USING YOUR CREDIT CARD AND SOMEONE STEAL YOUR INFORMATION.

 

Sorry to hear it. The best suggestion I can offer is to call phone support. I have heard in the past that sometimes they may move an amount from one country currency to another but this doesn't happen often so don't be upset if it doesn't happen.

That is (unfortunately) correct.

What you COULD try to do (if you are again able to migrate your account to another country after a few months): Migrate your account back to the US. Purchase to your hearts content and spend all your money. Then migrate your account back to Ireland.
