Xbox Capture: Only recording the first 5 seconds

Hi,

So recently when I record a clip (30 seconds 1080p), it will usually record only the first 5-7 seconds of the clip. I am not low on my storage for clips or for my Xbox One X in general. I've been playing Gears 5 and want to record a highlight but its frustrating
when only a few seconds record. I've reset my Xbox already, ideas?

Hello, I read your question, and I believe I understand your situation. The Xbox Ambassadors are here to help.

If you press the middle Xbox button and then press the select button you will see capture options that you can change. Some are 5 seconds and some go all the way up to 10 minutes.

You may need an external harddrive in order to capture longer videos of 1080 content.

Mine has done this heaps of times. Wven though i have it set to 30 sec record. I have found out its because my recording space was nearly at capacity and because it was higher quality it was allowing me to record but only 5-6 seconds worth. Try deleting
old clips to make more roo.

Do you have enough space on the internal storage or external storage?
