Xbox capping download speed VERY slow

i cant tell you for certain what this issue is but im on a very high broadband speed and struggle to hit over a 1MB at times. i believe this is being since the pandemic more so it could simply be the busy servers and current online members using the xbox
live and the fact they need to keep the online services working instead of crashing etc. imo

I would agree with FRA wappa, since the servers are overloaded with users internet speeds are gonna fluctuate a lot. It's an unprecedented time so there's not much you can do.

It's not your xbox. There are many things that slow your download speeds. Anything from traffic on the servers to traffic on your connection/node. Xbox caps speed if you have any app running to prioritize gameplay an app. Speeds fluctuate all the time.
Speed test can be deceiving. I can ping 3 different servers and show you 3 very different results. That's why most companies will not guarantee speeds based off speed tests and they use their own to verify speed. So basically if you do anything on your xbox
while downloading it will effect your speeds.

As far as downloading after your data has reached it cap, contact your ISP.

Once your cap is reached network access speed is slowed.

Some ISP's allow a top up of your data allowance which then puts your network speed back to normal.

I have the same question, even though I have GB speeds, the download is still ridiculously slow, it seems to be throttled to a 30mbps cap!
