I cannot do anything with the hard drive itself I cannot reformat it. I have nothing on my external hard drive and it says I have a certain amount used. Same as before deleting

Yes i have done this. My external hard drive had 80% left of storage. But now it wont connect to my xbox. The hard drive itself has the light on and you can feel it turned on, but the xbox itself wont recognize it.
