Xbox cannot connect to wireless internet

Hello!

I have been having trouble with connecting to my wireless internet on my Xbox one console. I have tried absolutely all the steps from what other forums have provided as well as the xbox website. After looking at other devices that are on the same wifi, these
seem to work but I'm curious why my xbox doesn't let me connect. The wifi i use shows up but doesn't want to connect.

Help please!

I can't connect to my wireless network. My internet works without problem on any other devices i have, unlike on my xbox. it says "cannot connect to DHPI server" and after that "cannot get an ip Adress". Please help!

Did you make sure you entered the passphrase for your WiFi correctly?

Also make sure, that your WiFi passphrase does not use "exotic" non-ASCII characters.

While characters like !$% and the likes work, characters like öäüßµÇ cause problems.

When you say it doesn't want to connect, do you get an error message from the console?

Also have you checked on your router if it still has free IP addresses in it's DHCP range?

I would try the following troubleshooting steps to see if any of them help.

Hard reset Xbox

Reboot all networking equipment

Make sure the encryption is WPA or WPA2 (not enterprise)

Try changing the wifi encryption type on the router (if it's WPA & WPA2, try setting it to just one)

Change the Wifi Password & try the new one

Most of the time a wireless connection can be very "laggy". If you can, switch to a wired connection. If you cannot, contact your internet provider and try to get a better wireless router.

the possible reasons all pertain to your internet connection to xbox live's servers they might be one of these possible reasons below.

1) Your connection to the wireless router/ wired connection isn't strong enough or cannot connect at all

2) You will need to get a stronger modem for a stronger connection to the internet and xbox live.

I would suggest calling xbox live support for this and they might be able to help you otherwise.
