XBOX - Cannot allow child purchases.

Sadly you cannot currently purchase V-Bucks with credit or gift cards. It's been this way for sometime. That is why it wont allow you to approve.

I personally have been able to buy V-Bucks with both currency and my bank cards. Other payment methods would include PayPal and your cell phone number just in case you end up needing that info.

I recommend checking your child's privacy settings to make sure "Ask to buy" is turned off, at least just for this purchase. You can always turn that feature back on after this payment processes.

Child accounts cannot download M or RP content that is free as that is considered advertising. However, child accounts CAN purchase M and RP content if your parental settings allow it. The parental account attached to your child account can manage these
settings.

what you did is incorrect which is why you got the result you got

1st and foremost

child accounts on family plans cannot have a creditcard thats what the master account is for

2nd from the sounds of it you purchased the 800 ms points for the gamertag from the creditcard

thats not a bug

you just werent reading what you were doing

a child account cannot charge anything to the parental account including ms points for gamertag

thats not how family plan works

the only way to get 800mspoints for a family member on the family plan is not direct purchase

the primary account must purchase 800ms points and then allowance to the child account and you apply the gamertag change



you do not buy the gamertag change directly from the card from his account



only the primary account can have a creditcard on it any other account will have their creditcard info deleted upon joining the family plan

a child account cannot make a gamertag change without 800 ms points since they cannot buy using their parents account

the primary must purchase the 800ms points then allowance it to the child account then the gamertag gets changed



if a child account in a family plan tries to make a purchase it will say no payment method or not enough ms points if there is no ms points

im going to gather this is most likely the case

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We understand that you are unable to purchase Xbox Game Pass on your son's account due to account restrictions. Is your son playing on an Xbox One or Xbox 360? A child account may have it's ability to
purchase items restricted by a parent account. You must have a parent account and

put the child account in a family. Once the child account has been added to the family, you can go to the

online privacy & online safety settings with the parent account and allow the child to complete a purchase. After the purchase is completed, you can log back in to the online privacy & online safety settings with the parent account and restrict any purchases
