Xbox button mapping problems

For those like me who like to button map, you may have stumbled upon the same problem as me. The button mapping locked and won't return to default or let you fix it. Not to worry though as it has nothing to do with your console or controller. It is a bug
within the app itself that needs fixes. I consulted with a representative and ask for help and here are some methods that may help you. ( NOTE On my part the issue was not solved)

1)Check for console and or controller updates in the settings

2)Unplug your power brick and wait 30 seconds

3)Probably the worst option but the most likely to succeed. Reset your entire console back to factory setting in the settings. This is a chance at fixing it permanently but if not it will for sure reset your controller to default button mapping settings.

4)Wait until the Xbox update that's soon to come

I have the same problem when trying remap, for some it will not let me click done, I tried hard reset and did memory wipe, but still not working. This is very irritating to deal especially when Destinys next expansion. please fix as soon as possible microsoft.

yeah i have had the same problem and spoke to xbox support on twitter etc and all they could give me answers was to look on forums and find an answer but this is really annoying and im like TotemicM3gatr0n, rise of iron for destiny is out practically in
9-10 hours time in the UK and i cant button map my RB button

We've not been able to reproduce this issue that you're seeing. Are you in the Xbox One Preview program by chance? Are you seeing this issue with any controller you try on the console?

I'm in preview, the recent update is when it started. You can't click done, when you press B to try and exit the app it just closes the app, and you don't have the remapped buttons you tried. This is bothersome because I'm trying to finish bioshock 1, and
you can't swap sticks, I play all shooters southpaw. Hopefully this gets fixed soon. I understand it's a risk of the preview program. I'm just here to let you know it's happening, and from what I've seen it's not just me.

 

And yes I've tried all my controllers, and checked for controller firmware update.

 

I am having the exact same problem. I can't click the done button on the remap screen. "Restore defaults" does nothing. Please fix ASAP!

This same thing happened to me.... both controllers!! And can't fix it! Uggh! the ABXY buttons don't work, and I cant get back to the settings screen

 

I JUST FIXED - what I did - I did a TOTAL reset of the Xbox (not to factory settings) - but I just unplugged the box, and I left it out for 30 minutes.... evidently the system updated (maybe mine is not program to auto update), and the controllers went back
to normal. WHEH - I couldn't get help from chat support, and searched these forums, and then just used a little common sense (which is hard for me, cuz im old - this is my teen girl's Xbox)… but it worked.

 

HI, i accidently remapped the b button with the press on the right joystick. how do i reset the controller to factory settings, there isnt an option on my xbox acc app?
