Xbox Bricked, like really bricked and can't get help through official channels.

My series X is on Alpha skip ahead and was working fine. I powered it down like I always do and went to bed. The next day I pressed the power button and it did not turn on.

I've done all the diagnostic "tricks" unplugged it for 24 hours, held reset, tried using just the controller and app to power it on, nope nothing. It's DEAD.

I initiated a return and the confirmation email at step 6 states that I need to print out a return label. The problem is the auto generate label system on the Microsoft side it BROKEN. I can't get a return label to send my unit back.

So I click the MS Support link and I have to go through a virtual agent and in the end all the options that pertain to repair and warranty end with the result being "Phone calls and chats aren't available for this issue."

And the one actual option that seems like it will go anywhere is "Post to the forums". So I did that, no response there either. So here I am on reddit trying to get help. I can't send my console back for repair because I am blocked from getting the proper shipping label.

I basically had to lie about the problem I was having and choose some other options to get a call back. The person on the phone was nice and they sent me another email that was supposed to contain a shipping label but that one also stated this in the email:

"We're sorry but we were unable to generate your shipping label. Please contact customer support for further assistance, we apologize for this inconvenience."

Lucky this email came when I was still on the phone (that actually surprised the agent as he said within 24 hours) and I was put back on hold. He came back and said he would have to escalate the issue and I'll have to wait another 24-72 hours and to keep checking my email.

So here I sit with a broken Series X. What is going on here?

Some things just break after being used for a while, it depends on which component fails inside the power brick. It's unfortunate but simply happens.

As for your non-official power brick, it depends on the brick itself whether or not is can damage the console as some may be designed to a similar standard as Microsoft's power bricks whereas others are not similar. I don't think your console will get damaged
unless the power brick isn't good at regulating power and protecting against power surges. At the end of the day, I would recommend buying an official power brick for the console whenever you can to protect the system from any faults from the non-official
power brick.

I purchased it off of Amazon and it is an official xbox power brick I try not to buy used for my gaming devices for that reason of not knowing if it was damaged by someone or something else like my storm for my first power brick

Your console wasn't bricked. Bricked means like a brick, dead, not usable, won't power on. You can't restore an Alpha console with USB, that is only for public builds.

You can order a power brick for your country. Go through
http://myservice.xbox.com to set up repair of your existing power brick, then when it gets to the page with costs (there won't be any at this time) select the bit in parentheses that state the accessory isn't listed. You'll get a new page that lets you
buy the power brick. MS will send a brick that matches the region of your profile and shipping address.

In the USA, the power brick is $35. Not sure what it is for an EU country.
