Xbox bricked after update.

How is it legal to have a mandatory update that kills your Xbox and not be held responsible? Last time I checked if I broke something I was held accountable... For Example. If I ran into someone else's car, even if it's a complete accident, wouldn't I be
forced to repair it or replace It or face consequences no matter how old or the value of the vehicle? So why isn't Microsoft? My console was fine IMMEDIATLY before the update. Update goes 100% and console is supposed to restart. Unfortunately mine didn't turn
back on. How is this my fault? Console isn't open... sticker is still on back. Why am I responsible? If I take a car in for maintenance and it's out of warranty and they accidently break something, do you know what happens? Well a reputable company would honor
it's mistake not try and pass the blame, deny or refuse.

If my property breaks due to age or an accident caused by myself like dropping it or spilling water on it even if it is stolen. I WOULD PAY.

If it's working fine and you tell me "Hey I'm going to make this work better even though it's not having any issues and add features you don't need. Oh and it's mandatory you have no say on this. We are doing this regardless" IT BREAKS... "sorry for breaking
your property we know it's not your fault. Pay us and we'll fix our own mistake." In what world would this work? It's not like Microsoft would even see a dent in revenue by doing the RIGHT thing.

It's like owning a tire shop and dropping nails on the street in the area of the business. It's wrong, unethical, immoral, shady, and ILLEGAL.

I may take this to small claims court. Maybe the media. I'm not alone and I know this for a fact. FB messages flooding in.

IDC about the Xbox anymore it's about principle now. It's about YOUR customers. US we pay your checks. No customers = No revenue = No job. Keep that in mind every time you do this to people. Yeah it's a small % and you probably won't notice, but over time
that % adds up.

And to any Mods or Ambassadors that more than likely will not reply to this:

This is not against you. This is for you. What if this happens to you next? Keep that in mind.

XBOX ONE Broken after applying April 2015 Update... Microsoft wants ME to pay for it

i have turned ps3 auto update of after the update that bricked one of my ps3 for over a week a couple of week ago

if you still have warranty on your console please take it back to the store and they will get it fixed for you for free as for the update issue a lot of other people have posted on the forums about it freezing and not continuing please try unplugging the power
cord and plugging back in, it could be a simple fact of it not being plugged in all the way as I have had it happen to me myself,

Were you using the insider hub or preview program? There is a disclosure stating that the updates could do harm to the console, but thats the risk. Sorry that it happened to you, but there are places that it can be taken to have it reapired, the warrenty
unfourtunitly will not cove the repair

 

You can always update to a stable build offline or if your console is on waranty then claim it!!

 

It's not a power issue. I've unplugged, changed outlets, tried different houses, power bricks, tried my power supply on another console and my psu is fine.

Not under warranty. A forced update did this. Not anything else. Warranty shouldn't be the issue. The issue is breaking something of someone else's and not being held accountable.

 

I suggest you talk to xbox customer support as this is an issue we ambassadors unfortunately cannot fix for you I am sorry this has happened to you and I hope it gets resolved for you.

 

No warranty. I was a preview member but I got out. When I was told by a friend that this could happen.

If someone else smashes your window on a vehicle is that covered by Warranty? No it's not. Who is responsible? The person who broke it.

So why would this be different? Did I break my console? Did my console just randomly not work?

No my console was fine immediately before the update. I was playing Xbox... turned off Xbox and went to get my son from school. 20 mins later. I get home and my son wants to play a game so I turn it on. ITS UPDATE TIME. So I tell him he's got to wait for
it to finish. We watch tv for a little while and I switch over to the Xbox. Screen says 100% And console turns off to restart. I give it a second... nothing a couple minutes..... nothing. Try to turn it on and it beeps and shuts off..

Now where did I break this?

Did it randomly happen?

It happened while it was being serviced. I was not in control of it. It was directly connected to an update that I did not want or need. I'm not responsible for it.

I wouldn't have even done the update at that time because my son wanted to play. I would've pushed it back to later that night if i was given an option to.

 

I understand it's not your fault. I'm making this issue known for everyone to see. I talked to customer support. Once again I know it's not their fault they are just doing their jobs. It's higher up then anybody you'd ever talk to on the phone.

It's the issue of being a loyal customer since I got my original Xbox in December of 2001. It's about the THOUSANDS of dollars spent. Its about sending your day 1 Xbox one in twice and still being loyal.

I'd have the Xbox one X if I didn't spend the saved money evacuating my family from Hurricane Harvey and being without power and out of work for 3 weeks causing me to go in debt.

Like I said if it was my fault or because it just broke down because that's what machines do. I'd gladly take responsibility.

But since it is directly related to an unwanted mandatory servicing. Microsoft is responsible.

 

Hyper venom I cannot do anything with it. It will not turn on at all. Beeps then shuts off... I've tried absolutely everything.

No warranty. But it's not like it stopped working on it's own. If that was the case I'd get another one. It was fine immediately before and broken immediately after.

That is lousy that it broke because of an update. Seems like they should fix it even if it’s out of warranty.

 

Brandiesel it's not a good feeling at all. I feel violated.

 

Mikepenuri it's almost sickening when I add up how much I've spent over the years, just to be treated like a piece of trash... And it's amazing how the mods can take the time to remove profanity but not escalate any issue.
