Xbox Bricked after Microsoft mandatory update.

There are a few posts on Twitter and reddit but not enough to really support a mass issue. It appears to be isolated to a few systems... so far. Recommend picking up a lotto ticket because we were the lucky few!

I think I'm looking at this problem right now... ugh!

I tried live update over the net, no dice...

I put in a CD I burned with the update and I'm looking at a blank screen, I started the update at ~9:45.. its now almost 11:15 PM

I know man. This has [Mod Removed – Profanity] me off so much after all the money spent over the years and everything they WILL not make right. I called back and spoke with a rep and he was getting mad FOR me and was not being condescending
at all. I know it's not the reps fault so I told him it was nothing against him but I needed to turn off ALL of my auto renews and I'd try to fix it myself or take my .45 to it. Was planning on buying the one x on black Friday... NOT NOW... congratulations
Microsoft today you lost thousands of dollars maybe more over time and that's only from my pocket. Over the last 20 years I've dropped at the very least 15k on them if not way more. But no more.

 

Mine will not power on now. It gave me the UPDATE screen and went through with update got to 100% And when it was supposed to restart it never came back on. It's old I get it, but the last time I used it it worked fine. I can't do offline update because
IT WILL NOT TURN ON. It's not power supply it works fine on other consoles and their power supplies don't work on my Xbox. It's FINISHED just like the money going to Microsoft from my end... in the process of ripping this thing apart to find a solution. If
I find a fix I'll update. And by update I mean I'll keep this thread posted, not Microsoft's version of update which is to destruct personally property with no repercussions.

 

You're lucky they just told me to unplug it plug it back in do a hard reset or try another outlet... And this was all done BEFORE I called them the first time had to tell the dude to look at how long I've been an XBL member and if it was something as simple
as doing a hard or soft reboot I wouldn't have called. Second guy was real cool and genuinely felt bad that he couldn't help.... that definitely sucks about the hurricane. I definitely feel your pain on that one. I'm just now barely starting to get back on
my feet since Harvey now this. Most people would be like just upgrade already unfortunately that couldn't be done yesterday today or tomorrow. And my Xbox was working fine. Guess I'll be the pround owner of a PS4 in November and after almost 2 decades of die
hard loyalty and a ton of money it hurts but is necessary.

I commented on a bunch of Facebook posts on Xbox and Microsoft's pages specifically ones that they were replying to or about the update. And looked this morning and most of my comments are gone. Still have no response. You know what gets these ppl talking
and not the lvl 1 reps? A little thing called a class action lawsuit for destruction of property. Releasing what I would describe as a known malicious mandatory software update.

This happened to me yesterday too so disappointed xbox was working fine was updating now it wont turn on tried everything .
