Xbox box will not power up

How old is the xbox? Any unusal noises last time you played?

Have you made sure the power lead is connected fully?

Try holding down the power button for about 15 to 20 seconds and also try contacting Xbox Support at: https://support.xbox.com/

No unusual noises. It did the same thing about a week ago but came back up after unplugging everything. It's about 4 years old. Yes, power cord is fully connected and we even tried a different outlet just to make sure that wasn't the issue.

If any of the power box cables are not secured it will not power up your xbox. The inside of that power box also likes to collect dust and could cause it to overheat. Was it warm to the touch? I used a wooden tooth pick and a can of air to clean out mine.

After installing an IR emitter directly from the Xbox One to the cable box, it does not power on properly. I have to conclude that the cable box requires multiple power signals to wake it up. My temporary solution is to uncheck the power setting for the
cable box and to leave the cable box on at all times.

I think a good option would be a new voice command to power the cable box on/off. (This should be done for TVs, too. Although, my TV powers on/off just fine.)
