Xbox bothering me to sign in when playing locally the free MS Solitaire Collection

When I try to sign in to MS Solitaire Collection, I get a sign in error "We could not sign you in to Xbox Live. Please check the Microsoft Solitaire Collection FAQ.... error code: 1170000."

Unfortunately I can't find this error code, or the answer at that link. I'm running Win 10. Help please!

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Sorry to hear that you're having some issues with the MS Solitaire Collection. To address the Xbox account question, when you signed in with your Microsoft account to begin playing the game, this
allows you to save your progress in the game to the cloud. The Microsoft account automatically gives you an Xbox Live account, where your game data is saved. Your game play is free and it is not a requirement for you to participate in contests unless
you wish to. Regarding the ads that you're seeing in your games, advertisements help to keep the game free for use; however, there is an upgrade option to Premium that does keep the grand majority of them at bay. Whether or not you wish to upgrade
would be at your discretion.

When you first logged into Microsoft Solitaire Collection, it created a GamerTag/Username to be associated with the Microsoft Account used when opening Microsoft Solitaire Collection. This is used to track your progress(score, badges, achievements, etc).
This GamerTag is generated randomly and may be changed(1 time for free) if you wish to do so.

A 1 week free trial of Premium Edition is given when you first sign into Microsoft Solitaire Collection. The Premium Edition grants access to bonus exp, coins, tournaments etc, as well as Ad-Free. At the end of the free trial, you are given the option to
purchase the Premium Edition subscription or continue to play free, without the Premium features.

I got it working by clicking on the Xbox icon in the microsoft solitaire collection app. Then after that launches a window I was able to go to its home screen and see my Microsoft Solitaire game information and there was a play button. When I clicked that
it signed me in and let me play solitaire.

As a side note I was having the same issue logging into Microsoft Mahjong. I was able to log in and play that game as well using the same method as above.

The old basic card games are all still there. When you first start solitaire collection

On the left hand side of the screen are the 3 basic games of Klondike solitaire,

Free cell solitaire and spider solitaire plus a couple new ones. You do not have to

Play the Daily Challenges or the star collection if you don't want to.
