    Xbox boots up & looks right but controllers (wired & wireless) do nothing.


    Xbox appeared to die on Tuesday, 12/14/16, evening (wired controller wouldn't do anything) so I turned it off using button on front of the xbox. Turned the xbox on, it booted up & the home page looked right but wired controller won't do anything & I noticed
    the power light on the wired controller wasn't lit so I tried plugging it in the other two ports but nothing worked I exchanged the wired controller the next day but the new wired controller doesn't do anything either. The original wireless controller doesn't
    work either.

    If it matters, I had just downloaded the updates for COD IW, GTA 5 and COD MWR about two hours before the xbox stopped working.

    And just to be clear, I can't do anything on the xbox besides turn it on so I can't uninstall anything or run any tests.

    I'd appreciate any help because I don't want to buy a new xbox.

    Xbox wireless adapter for Windows - only one Xbox One Wireless Controller works

    I tried different configurations:

    • Two controllers wired - only one works
    • Two controllers wireless - only one works
    • One wired and one wireless - the same
    Both are Model 1697.

    Nothing helps.

    As I understand, after console boot, You can login to Xbox Live, but can't connect to EA servers, without rebooting of Your modem, I'm right?

    Do You use wired or wireless connection for Your Xbox One?

    The Xbox One controller can only do wired right now. Wireless might become available in the future but nothing has been announced for it yet.

    That's your problem, right there. Unfortunately, if you connect your wireless Xbox 360 controller with a charging cable, all your doing is charging the controller.

    The 360 wireless controller can't be turned into a wired controller with the charging cable as neither the controller or the wire were designed to send data this way.

    You either need 360 wired controller or an Xbox One controller. Xbox One controllers can use wired or wireless, but wireless is only supported via Windows 10.

    Well the controller just flashed and booted the xbox up. But now the issue is when the xbox boots up, the power light will not come on, but the picture still comes up like it's booted, however the controller still has the same issue.

    I'm running out to my buddies right now and we are getting his wired controller to give it a try as well.

    Hi Josh, with the 360 off, remove the wired controller. Now boot up the 360 and try to Synch the wireless headset first, see if it grabs position 1 on the 360. If it does then plug in the wired controller and see. Hope that helps bro.

    @Ennileah, You should really read the WHOLE post before posting your thoughts.

    Just to make sure. It is a WIRED controller and not a wireless controller using a Play n' Charge kit.

    I think your Xbox is having a power failure when your controller is plugged in.

    My suggestings:

    1. Unplug the controller after you turn the console off and dont plug the controller in untill after the console is booted up

    2.Try another wired controller or Wireless controller
