  1. Xbox Bitstream Lag

Issue: When Xbox One X is set to Bitstream out (regardless of DTS, Dolby Digital, Atmos, etc.) and TV is set to “Auto” audio output and/or XBox VRR is on, there is significant lag in the audio in game and streaming content.

Configuration: I have my Xbox One connected to HDMI port 4 (HDMI 2.1 port) on my 2020 Samsung Q80T (75”) via Monster HDMI 2.1 cable. I then have a Samsung HW-Q950T connected to HDMI Port 3 (eARC) with a full High Speed HDMI Cable (18 GBPS). All firmware
    is updated.

    Additional Datapoints:

*I can eliminate the lag if I set the TV to pass through and turn off VRR on the console (needs to be both otherwise there is still lag)

    *Uncompressed stereo is perfect

    *Nintendo Switch works perfectly

    Completed Troubleshooting:

*Swapped all cables out multiple times

*Tried replacing Soundbar with 2x different JBL 9.1s

*Completely restarted TV, Xbox, and Soundbar

*Switched Xbox back and forth to Stereo and Surround sound

    *Tried turning off eARC

    * Swapped Xbox HDMI ports

    :)

Dolby and DTS Bitstream Sound Lag

I wad experiencing lag issues as well and I found a fix that worked for me. I replaced the hdmi cable that came with the x1 and got a better quality cable. Now it works and I don't Getty audio lag.

Dolby and DTS Bitstream Sound Lag

After the second-to-last update, my surround sound (bitstream, Dolby Digital) worked awesome - couldn't be happier. However, this most recent update, that happened last week, completely wrecked my surround sound for my Xfinity cable box. My Sony receiver
is reading Dolby Digital 5.1, but I'm only getting sound from the front 2 or 3 speakers (I have a 7.1 setup). Hopefully they fix this thing (again)!!!

5.1 Surround Sound Doesn't Work Properly on Xbox One

Using bitstream causes audio lag for me with either dolby or DTS. Using stereo or 5.1 uncompressed fixes this issue. However, 5.1 uncompressed has the same issues as noted above. I am left with having to use stereo sound.

Incompetent Customer Service - Dolby Digital via HDMI

Wow. I did not know that. If that's the case, then SPDIF is probably the only way. Bitstreamed Dolby 5.1 from DVDs via SPDIF should sound no different to the same bitstreamed via HDMI - had the Xbox been able to do it. uuuhhh.... the Xbox can bitstream
    DD5.1 via SPDIF, right?

Xbox One unable to detect that my receiver supports DD5.1, DD7.1 or DTS

try the xbox one sound settings (hdmi audio) to bitstream out, that worked for mine, then change the bitstream settings in the lower box to your preffered settings. hope that helps
