Xbox bio not updating on Xbox One console

Hi everyone,

I have been trying to edit my bio recently and it changes correctly on my screen after I edit it. After I click the 'Done' button, I can still see that it has changed when I go back into my profile.

However, after I leave the profile screen and go back to the home screen or do something else, my bio has changed back to what it was previously.

Why is this happening? Rather frustrating. Any help anyone can offer is much appreciated, thanks!

Hi there Camboplitzer,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear about the issue with an intermittent network connection. An ethernet
connection may assist with a better connection. If the problems persists, try
power cycling the console and network hardware.

I recommend taking a look at the following troubleshooting article: "My
Xbox One is getting randomly disconnected from Xbox Live".

Try this and let us know the results.

Hi Javier,

Thank you for the quick response.

I tested my multiplayer connection and there were no issues, I then attempted to change my bio again and it worked instantly. I had also been having the same problem with changing my profile colour, which seemed to have intermittent problems. I suppose this
must be an issue with my connection at times then, my internet is definitely not the greatest, so that does make sense.

Hello Camboplitzer,

We understand that you're experiencing an issue involving your profile's bio not updating after selecting done on your Xbox One console.

If this is not automatically applying or saving, the network and connection to the Xbox Live service is more than likely not syncing this data together at that point in time.

It is suggested to ensure that through the network connection everything is reading strong which can be checked through selecting the Test Multiplayer Connection option within the
Network Settings.

Try and perform all variants of restarting the console as well to attempt reconnecting the network and your connection to
Xbox Live.

Try this for us and let us know if this works.

Im not 100% sure but I believe since the update to the Xbox.com site, you cannot change the bio anymore,The xbox one and 360 are the only way to change your Bio (as far is I know)

I had a little look in the support Section but couldn't find anything other than instructions to do it on you console..

This feature is unavailable right now for the Xbox One but might be coming in a future update. You can stay up to date with the latest features and announcements on Major's blog or Xbox Wire. Right now you can only change your bio and motto on xbox.com and
your xbox 360 console.
