    Hi,

    I had this problem since Sunday May 19, I just found out that my 5 year old son chose to add some coins for his roblox and fortnite. The transaction was still pending on my card so I called customer service right away, and I was referred to the online refund
    request. Now both my request were just rejected and close, so I called a support again they gave me an instruction how to add a family account so this wont happen again.

    I just knew about the family feature right after this unauthorized charge happened. No I am very frustrated because this is at least 300$ for a game coin which was not use. I talked to a lot of people from the philippines which just gave me the same script
    and the run around.

    Sorry for the rant, i'm a very frustrated single mom here i am freaking out that amount is like half of my rent! and the child is a minor for god sake, totally not authorized... I really really need help on who i can talk to or get to have this charge refunded.
    I will disable to reset whatever i need to do with the account to return it back.

    So again sorry for the rant, i need on how can i have this resolved.

    Dear Jhoananordstorm,

    I am deeply sorry to hear this :( and i hope i can at least help out a bit..

    I would personally recommend you making a separate account for your child.. but this will lead to them losing all progress. This is only to prevent it from happening again:

    I have been looking around and came across this feature i didn't know about myself yet.

    You will have to go to your
    Microsoft account
    and go to Family (Linked it for you)

    Under the tab Content Restrictions there should be a button you can turn on and off saying 'Ask a Parent'

    This is what the description says: Turn this on to require adult approval for the things your child wants to buy in the Microsoft Store—except for what they get with gift cards or money in their Microsoft account.

    I think turning this on, if it isn't already would help you out with the future accidents of your kid buying stuff. This is all i can help with to prevent it only.

    I know Xbox can be quite difficult refunding the money so I think the chance is really small they would continue to help..

    (This is because it is in game currency and i don't think they can usually refund it without going through a lot of trouble as it is not theirs.. Looking at the way Fortnite handles it they do not sell it through the xbox store but through their game..
    so xbox would most likely have to contact Epic Games or something.. I am just assuming it would work like this)

    Hi jhoananordstrom,

    Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue. Based on the information that you've provided, if the charges were listed as 'pending' in the Microsoft account, rather than purchased, then that means that the charges did not yet go through
    successfully and as such, the Refund Request team would have denied your refund request.

    Although, if the Xbox Support team was able to confirm that the charges did go through on the account, then they were correct in recommending you request the refund; however, since the request was denied, you can dispute it simply by replying to the
    email containing the denial, as this would reopen the case for review. For more information regarding refund requests, I recommend taking a look at our support article entitled Request
    an Xbox digital product refund
    as it will provide further helpful details and information.

    As we here on the forums lack the necessary tools to directly assist with billing issues, if you have further questions concerning your refund request or the process, then it would be best to
    contact Xbox Support again as recommended by our Ambassador.

    Hey Scuba, again, I'm afraid I must reiterate the point made above--all purchases on the LIVE Marketplace are final and cannot be reversed. If you have family members who want to use LIVE, but you're worried about unauthorized purchases, I strongly recommend
    checking out the
    Gold Family Pack
    . This will allow you to make purchases on your account, and will prevent your son from making unauthorized purchases in the future. I know you've worked with phone support to address this issue already, but if you would like to continue
    making secure purchases on the console, I think this may be your best bet.
