Xbox (beta) PC Launcher -- Does not detect previously installed games

Discus and support Xbox (beta) PC Launcher -- Does not detect previously installed games in XBoX on Windows to solve the problem; As title states, the launcher does not see previously installed games.     Xbox (beta) PC Launcher -- Does not detect previously installed games


    As title states, the launcher does not see previously installed games.

    I had to reinstall windows on my main drive (CXbox (beta) PC Launcher -- Does not detect previously installed games :). I have "windowsapps" folder on another drive (E: [custom letter, not floppy]).

    Upon reinstalling the Xbox (beta) app, if my drive (EXbox (beta) PC Launcher -- Does not detect previously installed games :) is set as the desired location for app installs either through the Xbox (beta) app > profile > settings > general > "Drive Selection" or from windows settings.

    I am prompted, whatever is in that location will be deleted and I will have to reinstall anything in that directory. So...thinking I was clever, I changed the "windowsapps" name to "_windowsapps" to fool windows. Which worked. It created a new folder
    named "windowsapps". Deleted that folder and changed the first of it's name to the name of newly created folder (dropped the underscore "_").

    I figured the Xbox (beta) PC app would then see the game(s) located in "windowsapps" on (EXbox (beta) PC Launcher -- Does not detect previously installed games :) drive but it did not, it is just downloading the game again...

    I don't think this is a user issue. I think this is a design flaw. Most other launchers like Blizzard or Steam. The user just has to set a directory/ies and the launcher will auto find and add to the list of launch-able games. I'm asking MS does the
    same for its launcher. Please.

    Xbox App on PC can't detect installed games?

    Every game launcher has the detect installed games feature. Why not in the Xbox app?
    Hi,

    Windows 10 games and apps does it differently. The games are encrypted and this encryption is unique to the Windows install. If you install Windows fresh again (even on the same PC) the games will be locked. You will to need to delete the WindowsApps folder to reclaim the space and install the games again.
