Xbox (BETA) Installer error 0x803FB005

When attempting to install the xbox beta client for, game pass ultimate, it fails with error 0x803FB005. All prerequisites are met on the hardware and software level. Every install logs and Event ID 1001 "StoreAgentSearchUpdatePackagesFailure1" in Application
logs. I have completed WSReset and double verified all supporting software required.

Windows 10 Home x64 / Version 1909 / Build 18363.592 / All updates installed

I kept getting this error when trying to install using xboxinstaller.exe downloaded from the Microsoft website. None of the suggested fixes worked. However, I was able to install it via the Microsoft Store app instead, and this seems to have worked fine.

So this morning after letting a few games download over night, (no reboot), I opened the store again and clicked the same failed download and it instantly downloaded, then updated immediately after installing with no errors.

Possibly something on the far end? Appears all good to go now.

I started the app as an administrator. It worked.

I had the same issue, resolved it by downloading it directly from Microsoft Store.

Hit the windows key, then type "Microsoft Store" - log in, then search "Xbox Beta" in the search bar.

Try to download it through there.

Hi Smeagol, I may have a solution for you, or at least a workaround.

I couldn't get the app to install either and I received the same error message. However, if you try typing xbox into the Search field in the taskbar you should find an app called Xbox Console Companion. I believe it comes preinstalled with Windows 10.

After loading up the Console Companion and logging into it with my xbox live password, I was able to browse and install games that come with the Xbox Game Pass.
