Xbox(Beta) For windows 10 UNABLE TO CONFIGURE DOWNLOAD LOCATION

After scouring the forums as well as other external sources, I've been unaccomplished in finding how to download a game from this wicked launcher. Any other source for gaming applies a function which allows the user FULL control over where they intend to
store game files. For some obscure reason, Microsoft has restricted the ability to choose which drive to install games on, unless otherwise it has been changed in system settings > storage > change where new content is save. I'm sure many of us here rely on
the use of reason, but why in the hell has it flown out the window(pun) here?

Why am I unable to use a drive outside the one selected in Windows System Settings for storage? I specifically have an SSD for my OS for boot purposes(C which by default all new content is also saved. Consequently this drive has just enough space for just
that. All my other games exist on another external hard drive (D Yes, I have tried to change where new content is save, and I'm prompted to delete all other apps off my D drive, which I even tried to see if this was a viable solution, but even then I am
met with an error code for "Access denied" on an administer user account.

This is ridiculous, just follow the function for any other game launcher and allow users full control over where they intend to store their game files, whether or NOT there is concordance with the system settings for new content.

you can select any drive as a place to install but it will create the three folders and add certain system files to that drive, it will also make the folders it creates as system folders so you will not be able to access them, i currently have all my gamepass
games on a 4tb hdd, my windows install is on an ssd.

gamepass games can be moved to another drive but that drive will also then contain the three folders. it is a bad implementation and i would rather have something like how all the other work, where i can just copy the folder and shoft it over to another
drive if i please.

it is because most of the gamepass games are not normal files but in XVD (xbox virtual disk) format and these are loaded as virtual drives when you start a game, you can see these under device manage storage drive display hidden.

these need be kept in a secure directory with other system files so when you select a drive to become the storage drive for games it creates 3 folders one of which is system access only.

yes it is a bit backwards but that is how they have implemented this.

So, this formatting was intended only to run off of the drive with your system files? Meaning anyone who's OS isn't installed onto a drive large enough to house both, system files and game files are outrightly screwed? My knowledge on disk formatting is null,
so I can not contest whether or not this formatting is absolute, however it seems to me that there could at least be some manageable way to load the XVD files from any hard drive? What exactly lies within the system files that grants the XVD permission, or
function to run that can not be achieved on any other harddrive?

system settings > storage > change where new content is saved

this is the option, when you change this it only changes it for apps and games from the store not normal computer programs. windows will stay where it is, this just changes the location for app and games installed off
the store.

yes it is a bit backwards but that is how they have implemented this.
