Xbox Beta App Wont Download Any Games After Disabling DoSvc Service

sorry to hear and also sorry to say but this error code I never noticed :-( but maybe sfc can fix it!?

The application checks all system files and then immediately starts an attempt to repair found bad files. In any case, SFC records all the results so that you can alternatively replace the damaged data yourself.To use the scan program,:

Open the command prompt as an administrator:

1. Go to Windows Search from the Start menu (Windows icon).
2. Type "cmd" and then right-click on the entry "Prompt".
3. Select the "Run as Administrator" menu item.
4. Now insert the following command line into the command line: sfc /scannow
5. Confirm your entry by pressing Enter to start the verification process. Leave the command prompt window open until the check is complete and SFC has notified you of the results.

all of the options for dosvc in services are greyed out, and the service is disabled so i couldnt do anything about it :/

I had previously disabled Delivery Optimization via regedit.

Re-enabling this service and ensuring it was running fixed this problem for me.

What I did:
win + R, regedit, enter
navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\DoSvc

changed Start value to 3

restarted

win + r, services.msc, enter

right clicked Delivery Optimization, Start, service indicates Running status

Canceled pending installations in Xbox app

Searched for game pass game i wanted, clicked Install

Install working no problems.

once downloads are restored there is no need for further action; set it and forget it.
start value 3 permits the OS to launch this service when another app or service depend on it.

regedit at your own risk. make a system restore backup.

Do I need to change 3 to 2 after successful download?

No need to change from 3 to 2. Both are 100% fine to use.

In my research I found that DoSvc default start value was either a 2 or a 3 across the entire lifecycle of Windows 10 release updates. Interestingly it has even changed since my last reply, where at the time I was using 21H1 and the default value was 3. The current 21H2 defaults to 2.

In my opinion I think 3 is appropriate for DoSvc because unless I am downloading updates/apps/games from Microsoft Store there is not a need to optimize any deliveries...

I'm paying a service even it's in Beta, I expect at least to BETA TEST the service, and how the games behave, and I can't even download any single game, with my updated Windows 10 and the XBox Beta app...

This is extremely frustrating and it makes me rethink if I'm going to continue giving you any money in the future.

Is this the kind of support the users will have in the future?
