    Xbox (Beta) App not detecting microphone


    Hey everyone.

    I've got a weird problem with my Xbox (Beta) App. It doesn't record audio from my microphone and I'm out of ideas on what to check next. Maybe anyone can come up with an idea.

    What I've tried so far:

    - Checked the privacy setting so the app has access to my microphone

    - Checked if push to talk is activated for some reason

    - Checked if the right input device is selected for voice chat

    - I've reset the App through system configuration

    - Checked if Windows itself is detecting my microphone and if it captures audio from it (which it does)

    - Checked other voice chat programs (Discord, Teamspeak, Steam work without any problems)

    - Searched for Windows updates

    Here are some of my specs:

    Headset: Sennheiser GSP 670 Wireless Headset

    OS: Windows 10 Enterprise - Version 1909 - Build 18363.720

    Xbox (Beta) App Version: 2003.1001.4.0

    Since it's a wireless headset I've tried connecting to through USB which doesn't solve the problem. I've tried it with the dongle the headset comes with, with doesn't work either. It works if I connect it with bluetooth but the audio quality is awful that
    way. A lot of static and crackling.

    All these problems only occur when I try to use the Xbox App voice chat. All other voice chat programs are working perfectly fine with my headset.

    That was some awesome troubleshooting you've done... ruled out a lot of issues.

    It sounds like it's an issue with the Xbox (beta) app, but have you checked in gaming suite to make sure you've got the latest firmware, drivers etc. for the Wireless headset?

    Also, the Bluetooth issue (assuming it's not interference) sounds like it could be the driver on your computer is either the default driver or out-of-date, so you could look into your specific Bluetooth device and see if there are newer drivers for it.

    Hi, i just bought the GSP 670 today and had the same issue but the following steps fixed it for me in Windows 10.

    1. Open your Sennheiser Gaming Suite

    2. Click SETTINGS Icon

    3. Click CHECK DEVICES

    4. Click RECORDING tab

    5. Right click HEADSET MICROPHONE

    6. Click PROPERTIES

    7. Click ADVANCED tab

    8. Uncheck ENABLE AUDIO ENHANCEMENTS

    9. Click OK

    10. Restart your XBOX app

    That's it, hope that helps

    It is in BETA so it could just be a bug but i mean you've tried literally everything id have suggested so id say wait it out or contact Support

    Hi Christopher,

    Unfortunately the PC is detecting the mic and the input it is just the 'xbox game bar' app that is not detecting the microphone rather than the PC, as other apps and windows itself that is recieving the microphone input. Sadly none of the guidance here or elsewhere on the web has helped yet and I'm still stuck for a solution,

    Windows 10 Xbox One Streaming microphone not detected?

    That generic support doesn't really apply here. The problem is with a PC microphone, not an Xbox One microphone. The Xbox App on PC detects the mic and it works if I start a party via the app, but it doesn't work in any capacity on the Xbox One for parties
    or game chat.
