Xbox (beta) app is very, very slow and eats my GPU - any way to fix?

I just installed the XBox (beta) app to play some of the games included with my Game Pass Ultimate subscription, on a fresh install of Windows and man, it's really stuttery and janky, to the point of being nearly unusable, and uses a huge amount of GPU.
If I open Task Manager, it says the app is using 40-60% of my GPU, just sitting there on a list of games, and very quickly my laptop heats up and the fans kick up to very high.

Now, it's a laptop, and it doesn't have a great GPU, but all I want to do is install and play some low-end stuff like Undertale, Into the Breach, stuff like that. Is there any way to get the xbox app to not try to melt my laptop just viewing the list of
installable games?

Hi there,

you might want to try and find if there are any new drivers available for the laptops hardware like the GPU to see if that will result in any improved performance.

You might also want to try and turn Game Bar off via the Windows settings to see if that helps a bit.

Can you post the laptop specs? just to be sure that have "enough power"

Unfortunately the Xbox apps don't seem to be very efficient. The mobile app is also very slow and buggy. It's also a Beta app so it's expected that there will be some issues. Have you tried installing a game and then closing the app while you play?

Ya unfortunatrly its meana you need a better laptop

If you dont have a nvidia or amd gpu there is nothing you can do

Try to turn off the console and remove the power cord; wait for 1 to 2 minutes before plugging it back in and turn on the console!

Then, I would strongly suggest trying the troubleshooting steps below:

Settings > Network Settings > Advanced Settings > Alternate Mac Address > Clear

Then select System > Settings > devices and streaming > blue ray > persistent storage > clear three times > restart console.

Also, It would be great if you can delete the local save of the game.

If the issue persists, try to soft reset the console!
