    I recently got the Xbox Beta app, and as soon as I download any game (while the app is open) and alt+tab to another window, the app will go all black and will remain that way until I uninstall it. the only workaround is to uninstall and reinstall it. Thankfully I'm done downloading games for now, but it's super annoying to have to do this every time.

    Yes, I'm logged into Xbox One Companion app.
    I'm not looking for advice, I'm posting here so that Microsoft can fix their app.

    download issue

    Yeah the Xbox beta app has to finish the download before it is turned off or goes to sleep otherwise you will have to start the download all over again.

    Hello again.

    Fresh update. Seems this issue is tied to my gamer tag account.

    Here's what I've done to come to that thought.

    1. Got a deal on a Xbox One X.

    2. set it up new (transferred settings that were in the cloud)

    3. seemed like the "all games and apps" was working

    4. came back next day and "all games and apps" goes black within 20 seconds.

    5. restored the Xbox One X to factory

    6. let it do its updates

    7. signed in my wife's gamer tag account. Did not transfer settings EVERYTHING WORKS

    8. after all seeming to work, I added my account.... "all games and apps" goes black for me

    9. restart, log in as my wife... "all games and apps" goes black again.

    10. did all the actions listed before in this thread (exit insiders club at noon today)

    11. restored the Xbox One X to factory

    12. let it do its updates

    13. signed in my wife's gamer tag account. Did not transfer settings EVERYTHING WORKS

    14. after all seeming to work, I added my account.... "all games and apps" goes black for me

    15. restart, log in as my wife... "all games and apps" goes black again.

    So this is where I am at now.

    Sorry to have to ask this but any ideas?

    Thanks for the suggestion, results.

    All games and personally selected apps are on the 4 tB drive, nothing on the Xbox One X but the "pre-loaded" apps.

    Did a full reset of the Xbox One X with the external drive disconnected. Let it do its initial updates.

    External drive still disconnected

    Set up my account to test it straight away

    once logged in, opened "my games and apps" 10 seconds later black screen.

    again no games or personally selected apps added to the Xbox One X internal drive.

    I removed my account from the Xbox One X. I had not loaded any others so this is an "empty" Xbox (no accounts). I opened "my games and apps".... 10 seconds later black screen.

    Thanks again for all your help. Obviously I will need to involve Xbox support.

    Now the "dumb" question, how do I contact them? I originally tried to contact Xbox support and was not able to find any contact information or instructions. I could only find links that instructed me to post a question to this forum.

    I could be blind, clueless, or a combination of both.

    Thanks for the Update. You certainly put the effort in well done :)

    Since it only happens when you sign in your account, it is either your whole account or it might still be one game/app in particular that is stuck.

    To test if it is one game perhaps, since you have two Xbox's now - sign in with your account and transfer one game at a time, and see if the blank issue happens after any particular game/app?

    Has part of your test been sign in with your account on the newly reset Xbox, and not transfer or install any games? So basically just your account signed in, and no games or any apps installed except those that were already on the Xbox?

    If it is your account, then only Microsoft Support can help. Since you can answer all their troubleshooting, should go quick for you. If not, ask for a supervisor. Xbox support I'd say.
