Xbox Beta App for PC - Error code 0x00000001

Right I tried your do a different game suggestion,

Fails immediately error - Error code: 0x00000001

This is getting tedious, Im paying money to spend hours not playing with anything except the bloody Xbox PC app

And Toomb raider will download!!! WTH is going on here? ok beta, but still

Is there a place to make proper support calls for this? not just asking the kind community members here

Ok, so I finally got the download to work. I didn't get much help from Microsoft other than please make sure windows is up to date and please turn your computer off and on again.

Anyway the way I fixed it, so others can hopefully also be able to download although it is unfortunately not easy or straight forward.

You have to make a new installation of windows but by keeping all your personal files. Luckily for me all my games and photos etc were on another drive so they were not affected.

Once i had installed windows again I updated all the available windows updates and then updated all the xbox associated apps needed to start and download games.

What I did this time I had downloaded the new Xbox PC app from the store directly. I am pretty sure that this was smaller in size from the one I had initially downloaded from the xbox web page so please do try and download the one from the store first to
make sure that this is not the issue.

Once I had done this I was able to download the game successfully.

What I do hope is Microsoft acknowledge this and provide a fix because this took me over 12 hours on the computer trying various options just to download a simple game.

I also hope this helps others in getting a resolution.

Did you even read my post? I quite clearly states I have updated windows and double checked the patches kb number to make sure they are up to date.

In terms of "have you turned your computer off and on again?" This has been ongoing and the computer has been off and on over 20 times!

A solution would be nice instead of a standard reply.
