    Xbox Beta App Error Pop up


    I receive a pop up saying:

    C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.GamingApp_1906.1001.32.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe...\Xbox.exe A File cannot be created, if it already exists.

    I am up to date on Windows 10 and also tried reinstalling and deleting the file. All failed, please help.

    I was having the same issue as well. I just simply restarted the pc and went to Settings/Update & Security.

    Xbox(beta) can't recognize games on hard drive

    Trying to change the settings for the default download area are what causes the error code to pop up. I did the things on the wiki and no luck. Should I just go ahead and call support for the xbox(beta) app? Can they even do anything to help?

    Hey there Rooters!

    Error code 831188FE is a Beta error. We don't see your gamertag as part of the Beta program, but this error can also pop up if you've downloaded your profile to a Beta console.

    Have you downloaded your profile to a Beta console at all?

    Hi,

    Does this error occur with all games or only certain ones, and are you signed in to the correct account/profile? Do you receive this ‘Welcome back’ prompt every time and you can’t continue regardless of what profile and game?

    Simply signing in to the Xbox Console Companion app seems to have resolved the error for others as reported in this thread:
