Xbox being hacked by a kid

I was playing xbox and this kid and his friend join the party saying "get booted offline ***". The next second i was offline, i tried getting on my ipad and couldn't because i had no internet connection. And after 10 mins i get back on and this continued
for another hour. I got kicked offline a total of 12 times. My dad had important documents on his computer and since he turned off my router they disappeared. Making my dad lose a lot of money, their gamertags are [Mod Removed] They also modded
gta 5 and 4, call of duty black ops 2 and1. I have a witness, his name is
[Mod Removed] He also said when i said i was gonna block him he will get someone to ban me if i call you again. Please help!!!

DDoS attack. Xbox Live hacked?

That wasn't a hack, bro. The kid found a breech in the parental controls on his Xbox.

Again,there is no one playing online without having paid or using a trial.

If they were that means the whole xbox live system has been hacked by a bunch of kids, just to play a ten year old game.

xbox live had not been hacked,the games may have, but xbox live has not.

It seems you were a victim of a DoS (Denial of Service) or DDOS (Distributed Denial of Service) attack.

Also don't worry about getting banned off of Xbox Live. A thorough investigation by the Policy Enforcement team is required for any ban to take place.

As the previous poster correctly said, you were hit by a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. During such an attack the kid tries to "clog up" your internet connection, by sending it a lot of bogus data. Too much data for your router to handle at
once and it can't service your requests anymore during the attack.

Usually, if your router re-connects to the internet, you will get a new public IP address from your service provider. After the address change, the DDoS attack still went to the old (now unused) address, and couldn't hurt you anymore. That's why you were
able to use the internet again.

DDoS Attacks are illegal in most countries. You can request your ISP to log your internet connection for future DDoS attacks. If such an attack happens again, report this to your local police or law enforcement together with the evidence your ISP collected.

So, while you can (and should) report the gamertags in question through the console's reporting feature (bring up their gamertags on the console, and use the "File complaint" option, and report them for "tampering"), you should also contact your police about
this.

The complaint through your console will cause them to be watched by the Xbox Policy Enforcement Team, and they will be suspended or permanently banned from Xbox Live.

And your report to the police or other law enforcement about the DDoS attack will result in these kids (or their parents) being fined or arrested "in real life". But make sure you have the proper evidence from your Internet Provider before reporting the attack!
