    Xbox bar can't record right now


    Hi all, I have used the Xbox bar to record the screen many months and suddenly few weeks ago it stopped working. Every time i click on the record button i get the same error message, which doesn't give any useful information (Microsoft...).

    Can't record right now. Try again later.

    I tried a number of troubleshoots and nothing works: reset the app, clear windows store cache, run several check commands:

    SFC /Scannow

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth

    Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /ScanHealth

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    Nothing. One problem is that I can't uninstall the app, the uninstall button is greyed out, and if i run the command "Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage" it doesn't work either.

    It seems many have this problems but i haven't found a thread where the user solved this issue.

    Hey Ilisuan,

    1. Press Windows key + I, to open Settings.
    2. Click on Gaming and select Captures from the left pane.
    3. Under Background recording, toggle the switch to right for Record in the background while I’m playing a game.
    4. Try recording the game now.

    Sign in On Xbox Companion and Xbox Game Bar Doesn't Work

    Open the Start menu, and select Settings > Gaming and make sure Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Xbox Game Bar is On. If Xbox Game Bar doesn't appear for a full-screen game, try keyboard shortcuts: Press the Windows logo key + Alt + R to start recording a clip, then press it again to stop. Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!
    I don't need help with recording clips. I need help trying to sign into my game bar because as of right now I cannot sign into my Microsoft account.

    With issues like these, we'd recommend trying some basic troubleshooting steps such as clearing the cache and data, restarting your device, as well as restarting your router as it might fix the issue.
