Because of backward compatibility you will be able to join parties, join games but only the xbox 360 game you have started up.

Hi! New BC titles aren't announced before they get released and posting the games you'd like to see become BC the most won't do anything either unforunately.

 

Best advice is to follow Major Nelson on Twitter (@MajorNelson) or
his blog, where he frequently shares what back-compat titles are being made available, but he does so on that actual day. However, significant releases (such as a older Call of Duty title) may get mentioned ahead of time.

 

Yes I know. But that's my little desire for these games to be backwards compatibility.

 

You just threw me into a black hole of nostalgia man ! I would pay good money to be able to play any medal of honor or godfather game again. Used to play them on my PS2 and I wish I get to do it on my One S.

 

BC games are put in weekly so one day we may have the entire X360 lineup to play

 

They are only announced when the team have completed the BC process.

The Godfather games are linked to the 'Godfather movie license which EA no longer holds the rights to. The original publisher of Scarface, Vivendi Games and it's successor publisher, Activision Blizzard,
no longer hold the publishing rights to Scarface, the digital version of that game has been pulled from all PC download sites - so there is no chance it can come back to Xbox.

MMA no show would either be down to the 'MMA' license expiry or any in game music licenses. Same with FIFA Street series. No previous FIFA games are BC, and probably never will be either.

Microsoft has a tendency to retire it's old Forza games after a certain time. This may be down to music and car licenses.

I know I post a lot about how a game can't be made BC, and I'm probably wasting time posting here as not many people seem to understand game licensing.

A general run is, if a game is no longer available to buy digitally on the Xbox 360 platform,
it can't be made BC for the Xbox One.

 

Why can not be in BC Forza Motorsport 1,2,3,4 when it's a first party title. In the grove, as a whole MS throws sticks under the feet.

Godfather 1 & 2 and Scarface

three very good games. And they can not be backward compatibility. I'm not saying the whole BC builds on these games, but a lot of players are waiting at least for parts of Forza Motorsport, especially for the third and fourth. And those gangster games where
else can I play than Xbox. When computers are already very powerful on these games for the Scarface game. Such very good games will die pretty fast. Well nothing, really beautiful work of developers! (Irony)

 

In regards to Forza, it depends on how Microsoft and Turn 10 are set up with licenses from the car manufacturers and any licensed music included. It doesn't matter that it's first party.

You can still play the original Xbox 360 disc versions of the Godfather on an Xbox 360. Ending of licenses does not effect the disc games. However, to achieve BC on Xbox One, each 360 game has to be repackaged for the Xbox One platform, essentially turning
even disc based games into a digital versions. The caveat to this is that, at least initially, all games made BC must be also available for digital purchase.

When you insert a BC 360 disc to an Xbox One, you are asked for an update, but what you are in fact downloading isn't an update, it's the repackaged game.

I'm pretty sure sure Scarface and the Godfather games can still be installed via original PC disc on to Desktops or laptops. It doesn't matter how much more 'powerful' or advanced modern PC's are, it's not difficult to lock the frame rate. They won't play
too fast.

Yes, I know that I do not download the update, it only verifies the game over the disk and then the game is being downloaded because of the fact that two disks are just one, since the game is only validated. I'm from the Czech Republic, so a lot of games
that are not bought in the BC are through the Microsoft Store and they just go through the disk.

 

For Godfather and Scarface. It's not about any pictures or anything you may think. The problem is more core processors. Scarface play only one core processor. I do not know how Godfather is. But thanks to this Scarface game is not playable. Although the
computer only turns on one processor core, it is a job, and no one wants to rebuild the processor to play one game and then put the processor back to the default to make the computer work normally.

 

Backward compatible comes down to Microsoft and developers. Some developers don't even exist any longer so games made by such will never come available and as obsessive power states its all due to licenses owned for music, cars etc etc. If we are unable
to renew licenses for these then them games wont become backward compatible either.

Clearly, then, it's up to an agreement backwards. Or directly on some Remake or Remaster. A lot of studies have disappeared under their brand, but they work under other studios. Or they do not work as a studio, but those studios are employees in other
studios.
