Xbox automatically signs in after upgrade, security degraded etc.

After the Xbox upgrade the Kinect / Automatic login doesn't work well at all. We are a family of four, and all have the Kinect login setting configured, except that my account is configured to verify that it's me. After the upgrade, I've seen several issues
connected to the user logins:

• Many times, the last user is automatically logged in when starting the Xbox. This means that sometimes I'm logged in when the kids starts it, which in turn makes it possible for them to play inappropriate games etc.
  
• Xbox is worse in detecting who's who. My kid gets logged in as my wife etc.
• The small login notification picture shows another person. My wife's, or my picture is shown when my kid is logged in.
  

Wasn't the upgrade supposed to make things better. I have small kids, currently I don't bother about social networking. I bother about security, and restricting social networking!

I fixed it.

Go to Xbox.com and find your security settings for your profile, then find "Xbox 360 Profile Protection" and set it to require the profile to redownload the profile every time you sign in (this will also sign you off of all 360 consoles you were previously signed into).

Since my 360 had been set up to automatically sign in, I'm thinking the Xbox One thought I was still signed in on my 360, and obviously you can't be signed in on multiple Xbox's on the same profile at the same time, so it flagged an error.

At least that's my guess. I also cleared my Xbox 360 local data and did a console restart.

Just follow those steps and it should hopefully be fixed.

I actually have to apologize for jumping the gun. I found the "Download profile to Xbox" option that Dilusive was referring to, and just downloaded it back to the exact same place it already was, and now the auto-login seems to be working fine. It seems
a bit ridiculous to need to download a profile I already physically have to a system that hasn't physically changed, that I guess those are the bugs that got through.

Hi SWarnberg -- I totally understand your frustration and as can be expected some things aren't always perfect, but Microsoft has built in protections so as to avoid what I suspect is a major concern and that is access to inappropriate access to content
by your kids when you or your wife's profile is mistakenly signed in.

I would suggest that you and your wife's account not be set to auto-login or that any login for those two accounts be password protected. That's what has worked best in my case; while not as convenient and I miss out on some of the gee wiz coolness of kinect
and my xbox instant recognition, in some instances it is best to double safeguard for imperfections in the system to be on the safe side. You can see this link for info on password protecting adult accounts:

You should make sure that you indicate when Kinect didn't recognize the right person to help it improve people in the household and you can find info on how to do that here:

this is a known, and as you say inconvenient, workaround for one of the points I reported. It doesn't solve the issues with the upgrade, and doesn't solve the other points.
