Xbox audio issues

Why is there almost no care / support for Dolby Atmos audio? When it comes to headphones it works just fine but it’s absolute dog water when you try using an actual theatre setup. I have a Sonos Arc hooked up to a new C1 and had the same issues as I did with my B8, so now I know it’s not because I didn’t have Earc on the B8. There’s like a 500ms to 1 second delay in sound and you see this same issue littered all over different support forums even with the new generation consoles.

I have to take a step down and choose Dolby Digital “which even that option has like 200ms of audio delay”

A big selling feature of the Xbox one x console is that it supports “Dolby Atmos” so that new Tomb Raider game will sound great they said.

But that’s only half true. It only works on headphones “which I don’t even know if that’s true because they either use optical and usb or just usb to transmit the information for audio to headphones, and I don’t think those connection methods support speeds fast enough for Dolby Atmos” maybe it’s different for headphones, I don’t know. Still though, don’t advertise your products as “Atmos ready or capable” when they’re just not. It might “sound good” with closed eyes but in a real performance you notice it and get annoyed of it fast. How did this get past testing? In fact how is it even still a problem? It’s not like Atmos setups are just now becoming popular.
