    Xbox Audio issue - game chat can not be heard while streaming. NOT party chat. Please fix!


    I have been streaming on twitch for about 3 months. I along with any other Xbox One streamer run into the issue of not being able to hear game chat through our streams. It is extremely frustrating, and I’ve tried everything in the books to fix it. I stream using an el gato capture card to a pc. Especially when playing cross play games with friends, we CAN NOT do XBOX party chat. if they’re on a PS4, obviously Xbox chat isn’t an option!! As a result, the stream has no game chat audio. This is very frustrating. I was told this is done intentionally, in case of explicit language or whatever the case may be. As a streamer you should be cognizant of things people may say, that’s why there’s a MUTE button. However with this method there’s absolutely NO alternative, other than party chat. PLEASE FIX THIS. It has gotten me so frustrated to the point where I have considered going to PlayStation as they don’t have this issue with game chat.... I was told to post here after bringing this issue up with the Xbox Twitch account.

    Streaming to computer: controller and headset issues

    Ok, so I figured out that to get game audio/chat to work while streaming, we had to hook the controller up to the computer we are streaming to via USB. The headset stayed plugged into the controller. Yay! Game audio AND chat!

    NEXT PROBLEM: there seems to be no way to control game volume/chat volume while streaming. We have mute chat at the top, but that is all. The computer volume controls do not affect the stream, and the volume controls on the controller adapter also seem to
    do nothing.

    How do you control game/chat volume while streaming?

    I dont stream but does your mic work while not streaming? I would check that because the mic could be bad or the controller connection might be bad as well.

    To stop your Xbox from streaming game chat audio, you can mute the chat audio in your Xbox settings. Here's how:

    Go to your Xbox settings.

    Select "Display & sound."

    Select "Volume."

    Toggle off the "Game chat" option.

    This should prevent game chat audio from being included in your stream.
