Xbox asking for kids Microsoft account password

you can't, unless you can prove you own the account then its gone, this is why you should always backup or write down your account details, there is no such thing as a make and forget account. in this day and age it is vital that you keep a record of all your accounts and details.

Is there a way to change the microsoft account my xbox account is on without changing the email on an acount?

I ask because I have the same account as when I was a kid and I had my dad's microsoft account, but now I want to change the acount to be mine without changing the password asscociated with his microsoft account.

No. The email is the Microsoft account which is the Xbox account. They are all one in the same so there isnt any way to separate them.

Thanks for your reply.

I am still experiencing the issue, and using a new private browser did not help.

Here's what I did:

- reboot the computer (up to date windows 10)

- login with my kid's account (local windows account)

- open edge, open a private session, go to roblox.com

- click on "get it from microsoft" at the bottom right of the screen

- login with kid's microsoft account

- the page asks that an xbox account be created, click OK, the page then asks for parent's approval

- I enter my own credentials (email, password)

- the page goes in a redirect loop, and eventually stops, complaining that there were too many attempts.

the kids credentials are correct, as I can login with them without issue

my own credentials are correct, if I try a wrong password on purpose at the parent's approval step, it will correctly say that my password is wrong. If I use the correct password, it goes in the redirect loop. My account seems otherwise fine, this is the account I'm logged in right now as I type this.

No Xbox account . When we were putting the Minecraft app on his tablet it asked to set up a Microsoft account .So it is only a kids Microsoft account
