    Xbox Arcade, no signal on TV


    The deal

    I got this xbox 360 arcade from ebay, super duper cheep. cool.

    But its not cool because when I set it all up and turn everything on I get a "no signal" error on my TV. Ok no big deal, its broken. But then I pick up my controller (thats connected) and upon grasping it I knock one of the thumb sticks and here
    that dashboard sound. So it is working, just the video is not coming through! Oh no! Why.

    Already tried that!!!!

    Okies, its time to list all the "fixes" that didn't fix.

    • Holding R trigger and Y
    • Using different leads
    • Using different TVs
    • Using different video ports e.x. AV/HDMI
    • Using different video ports with the different leads on the different TVs
    • Trying to blindly change the video setting on the xbox dashboard. (I have no idea what dashboard we're dealing with here)
    • Overheating my xbox (I don't know what I was thinking, maybe xbox abuse would cure it)

    Well ladies and gentlemen, and gentle men, you have all the info on the deal-ie-o regarding my xbox I hope you know how to fix it, because if you don't thats £15 that i'm never getting back.

    No signal on tv

    Hi yes hdmi connected in the right slot power supply connected directly to the wall and power supply light is the nor al white/blue

    Old Xbox live saved games and discs,arcade games, and switching consoles more than once

    You can not play 360 games on the ONE, this would include your arcade games. You can daisy chain the 360 through the ONE by connecting the 360 to the TV input on the ONE with an HDMI cable. Then say Xbox go to tv and it will pick up the signal from the 360.
    Your account works for both the 360 and the ONE.

    Don't confuse what the xbox one will send to signal to vs. what the TV is set to receive.

    This is a TV issue based on what signals the TV can receive and how.

    Xbox One will not with smaller TVs (32inch and 24inch), but works with big samsung (50 inch)

    Hi, the samsung TV is model P2770HD.

    The xbox sends a signal and powers the tv on and off, but no video signal.

    The xbox is working and the ports on the tv are working (i tried direct tv devices and all the porta are working fine.

    The HDMI cable also worked with xbox ONEand another, new TV (samsung smart tv).

    It is an Xbox One.

    4k video support

    I believe Hydro was only stating that the apps and games, as of know have a limit of 1080p. Meaning that the Xbox One itself will not generate, via an App, nor pass through a 4k signal. Hopefully this will change soon, hence voting at feedback.xbox.com
    . Having stated that any signal your TV receives it should scale it to the native screen resolution of your TV. So if the Xbox sends a 1080p signal to your TV, the TV will upconvert it to the the native 4k resolution. Now granted it is not a true 4k signal
    as it only has the 1080p signal at its base. I have a Vizio 4k TV and this is true for my Xbox and Bluray player, they only transmit a 1080p signal but the TV will upscale it to the Vizio's panel resolution of 4k.

    Hope this helps and I didn't confuse the issue further.

    Xbox One is not sending signal to TV

    No, with my issue the TV just receives no signal at all. When turned on the xbox is clearly on, but nothing happens on screen, it just stays at the default TV "no signal" screen.
