Xbox April Update to menu sounds

I updated my xbox system to the latest version last night and never heard the sounds of the menu... Now personally I think the new sounds and notification pings are damn right horrendous. I have searched and there is not an option to turn notification sounds
off unless I turn being notified off. Am I being blind or is this genuine? If it is what the hell gives?

What version is it? (It would say it on the menu).

Here's a list of patches for the game. I think the game was last updated in April of 2013 on the Xbox 360.

 

Xbox One Stereo Headset (April Update)

Hello, Does anyone here have the official Microsoft Xbox One Stereo Headset? I just bought it today because I noticed that the April Update was applied to my console before I went in to work. My question is does this headset sound nice and clear after the
April Update that supposedly fixed the audio quality with headsets as far as game sound and chat sound. Anyone that knows if the static issue and choppy sound that was prior to the April update is gone please reply with more information. I want to make sure
this headset sounds good before I open the box. Thanks.

 

To change your notification settings, press the Xbox button to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Preferences > Notifications. You can choose what to do with individual Xbox and
app notifications (or turn all notifications off), adjust the duration of pop-up notifications, and more.

 

That does not turn sound off... I know how to get to that, that disables seeing all notifications which is not what I want. i want to see but not hear the stupid noise they have put for notifiactions!

 

I don’t like the new sounds either to be honest, but they only last a split second and it doesn’t really bother me.
