Xbox apps and games wont let me talk

On apps I cannot join parties (xbox beta, game bar amd companion) on companion it will not detect my audio or mic no matter if its USB or 3.5mm. I click to join parties and it loads but then nothing happens, no error message or anything. I also
cannot use game chat

sorry to hear about this.

when you join a party just to clarify you see a yellow error message when using your mic? If so please use an internet cable to hardwire the console.

if its the headset, test this on your pc or phone to see if it works.

test the headset in another controller to see if its the controller and not the headset.

see if you can join a party on your phone or computer and see if that fixes the problem.

You mention your in the beta program, so did you notice this after an update? If so report it via the insiders app.

It worked fine on my other pc and laptop. I have tried those ports and it didnt work and i already gave it access to my mic and everything is updated, windows drives apps

Sorry let me clarify I'm on pc, I always use this same headset on xbox and mobile it works fine. I am UNABLE to join a party on pc it does not let me join or host and there is no error message. I am using Ethernet and when I said xbox beta I meant
the xbox gamepass beta app.

sounds like a port issue on the pc itself.

These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work:

• Port 88 (UDP)

• Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)

• Port 53 (UDP and TCP)

• Port 80 (TCP)

• Port 500 (UDP)

• Port 3544 (UDP)

• Port 4500 (UDP)

If all thats fine, then please see if the xbox app and pc is fully updated and please test your internet connect.

If that doesn’t work then please could you try a family or friends pc to see if it works on their pc? If so this helps us to narrow the issue down.

Please follow these steps:

1. Press Windows key + I to open the Settings app.
2. Choose Privacy.
3. Select Microphone from the left pane.
4. Under the “Choose which apps can access your microphone“, toggle on the Xbox app.

I dont know if its fortnite or its my xbox buh it wont let me talk in game chat
