Hi there AFK welcome to the community forum! Christopher here, an Xbox fan just like you and has been on Xbox for years already. I would really love to make your day by helping you out. We are not Microsoft here we are gamers just like you so please let's try to keep it clean, if you feel that removing the app entirely is a good option I would go for it. But, I suggest trying these two options:

1. Press Windows key+R to open Run then copy paste the path below.

%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

Press Enter. Look for the Xbox App then remove it.

2. Perform a Clean Boot

Determine whether a background program or a software conflict is putting the Xbox app on the taskbar

Go to the search box > type MSConfig.

Select System Configuration > go to the Services tab.

Select and put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services" > Click Disable all.

Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all the unnecessary services running there.

Restart your computer

Microsoft has no idea how to fix this. Just because it's Microsoft, doesn't mean they have smart people.

Just to make sure that we get the exact picture of the issue: on your Windows device, the Xbox app keeps pinning on the Taskbar even if you unpin it from the Taskbar, it will just pin itself back or it pins itself back after a restart on the device, correct?

May I know what Windows version, edition and OS build is your Windows device running on? To check, go to Windows Settings > System > About and see under Windows specifications section.

For now, kindly try these steps below:

1: Disable the app in Startup Programs

Open Task Manager

Go to the Startup tab

See if the Xbox app is listed

Select the app if yes then click Disable

2: Remove the app from User Pinned folder

Press Windows key + R

Type the path below and click OK

%AppData%\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\User Pinned\TaskBar

Right-click on the Xbox app on the list then select Delete

Thanks for the suggestion but that doesn't work either. I've had XBox disabled for whatever time it's been there but the icon has this nasty habit of reinstating itself on the Taskbar.

As stated earlier, I see someone posted the following link...
