Xbox Appear Offline

I also noticed with some games like Madden, Borderlands 3, MW that even if you are offline on your Xbox you still show up online to your friends in the game.

I have noticed that also that you can see someone is on but appearing offline as it says "offline" and not "last seen". I know it does also say "offline" if someone hasnt been on there xbox in a very long time... but thats not that useful.

I don't think there is a way to change that as it has been that way for years from what I remember

So to seek clarification, you still want your friends to see that you are online, but you just want them to see that you are at home screen? You are not wanting them to know exactly what you are playing or doing? When you go to your profile you have the
option to show online, offline or you can set it to do not disturb. You can adjust your privacy settings so that either everyone, friends only or no one can see your various information. You can let people see that you are online, but not be able to see
what you are doing, playing, watching, listening to, or using apps.

A. Press the Xbox button in the middle of the controller

B. Go to system tab

C. Select settings

D. Select account

E. Select privacy and online safety

F. Select Xbox Live privacy

G. Select view details & customize

H. From here you can go into each category and make changes to your settings so that it matches what you want your account to project about you and even how much information of others that it will show you.
