Xbox App won't update to the Insiders version after joining the Windows Gaming preview.

That's a preview and it's available for insiders, there's a process to register as insider to get access to it

"To get started, download the Xbox Insider app from the Microsoft Store on Windows. After signing into the app with your Microsoft account navigate to the Previews tab and join the PC Game Pass Southeast Asia Market Expansion preview. Wait for the registration to complete and you’re good to go! Now that you’re in the preview launch the Xbox app which can be found in the Microsoft Store on Windows if it’s not already installed. First Open microsoft store app

Click profile and click app settings

Turn off App updates

Then Open Xbox insider hub app

Click Preview

Scroll down

Under “Joined” click Windows Gaming

Click Manage

Leave preview

Click continue

Be patient will appear a button again to join, don't do it

After that restart the Pc and repeat the steps above

I see. In this case, have you tried to remove your account, change the console's region to somewhere else (like Canada or the UK) and then after that change it to Australian? It seems that there might be an issue with the Australian region package.

If that doesn't work, try to download the Xbox Insider Bundle and check if you can apply for a newer version (test) of the Xbox OS on the Xbox Insider Hub, through the Xbox Update Preview. After your console updates to the newer version, check if you can change the region again.

If you still can't, I recommend you to use the Report a problem button from the "Shutdown" window (press and hold the Xbox button on your controller) and then fill the report as needed. Also, contact the Xbox Support directly to let them know of this issue.

To leave the Xbox Update Preview, go back to the Xbox Insider Hub app and leave the Xbox Update Preview. After the console returns to the standard version of the OS, you can uninstall the Xbox Insider Hub.

Check this last one downloading (or open) the Insider Hub app > Previews > Scroll down and below "Joined"
