xbox app wont start

the Xbox app on PC wont start for me, whenever I open it, it immediately closes.
so far I have tried:
Repair, Reset and Reinstall the Xbox app, live app and companion app.
Multiple restarts.
Scanned Windows for any problems.
Updated drivers.
disconnected internet and tried opening it.
Reinstalled Gaming Services.

so far, the most promising solution was uninstalling the Gaming Services using Powershell, cause it did open the app after doing so, but the app tells you to reinstall Gaming Services and after the reinstall the same problem presents itself again.
any ideas how to fix this without the need for a complete Windows reset? the rest of my pc is doing fine.

the problem is not with starting. the app starts just fine. it just wont load my original xbox avatar

Hi there!

I appreciate your efforts in trying to get it fixed. Let's see what we can do about that here.

First, be sure to install any available Windows updates and updates from the Microsoft Store.

Then try the commands below:
- Launch powershell in Administrator mode.
- Copy & paste each command then hit Enter:

1. Set-ExecutionPolicy Unrestricted
2. Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

Then restart the computer.

If that didn't work, try to perform a clean boot to investigate if some 3rd party services are causing the issue.

Please, make sure your Windows is updated:

Then, reset the Microsoft Store:

Press the Windows key +R

Type WSReset.exe and press Enter.

Restart your PC.

Afterwards, please, download the Gaming Services Repair tool:

Once downloaded, execute the file by right-clicking on it and selecting Run as Administrator.

Follow the prompts and check if the issue was resolved.

Moving on from there, reset your network settings:

Please, follow these steps:

Press Windows Key + X > Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced Network Settings > Network Reset > Reset Now.

Also, make sure all Xbox Apps are up to date in the store, and make sure you have the Xbox Companion App installed, it works with the Xbox App.
