Xbox app won't sign in on custom built pc

To properly isolate your concern, we need to gather more details about the issue. Please provide us the following information:

• Are your other games working fine?
• When did the problem start to happen?
• Did the issue start after an update?
• Are you still able to sign in on the the
  Xbox Account website?

Here are recommended basic troubleshooting methods that can help you resolve the issue:

Method 1. Restart your apps.

1. Press Windows + R on the keyboard.
2. Type msconfig, and then click OK.
3. On the General tab, click the Normal Startup, and then click OK.
4. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Restart.

Method 2. Reset Windows Store cache.

1. Press Windows key + X on your keyboard. 
2. Click on Command Prompt (Admin). 
3. Type wsreset.exe, and then hit Enter. 
4. Close the Command prompt, and then launch Windows Store. 

Method 3. Update the Xbox App in the Windows Store.  If there is no option for you to update it, uninstall and reinstall the app.

Also one more thing to note is if i click refresh while in the app, it gives me 0x404 for some reason

There is no reason why you can't uninstall it. However, there is no reason why you should either. The built in Xbox apps use less than 400 MB of storage on your hard drive (which is a tiny amount). If you're running out of space on your computer, removing
the Xbox apps won't help.

Also, none of the Xbox Apps use any system resources when they aren't running, so you won't get a faster PC/laptop removing them. If your PC is slowing down, it won't be because of the Xbox apps.

Unlike the majority of users on this forum, I'm a PC hardware person, I built my own PC. Unless you have some other reason why you don't need the built in Windows 10 Xbox Apps (like for work), you should leave them be.

the xbox one cpu is closer to a pc cpu

the xbox cpu is a custom built power pc

Do PC custom built or self built. Don't buy pre-builts you'll get ripped off.
