Xbox App won't pull up my friends list.

My Xbox App worked perfectly up until a few days ago when it decided it didn't want to load my friends list. Now it gives me this error:

We can't show your friends right now. Try refreshing the app.

and below it:

Something went wrong

I've tried refreshing the app, closing out of the app all together, restarting the services associated with the app, and uninstalling the app (after a few issues, it was successfully reinstalled) but the issue persists.

If anyone has any info that would benefit fixing my issue (and possibly anyone else's), please share.

How to text your friends

On your xbox just pull up your friends list, find your friend and click on message. I use the Xbox app on my phone a lot to message people as I don't have a chat pad so there is that option as well.

 

Text pad not popping up

me and my friends are having problems with the text pad on the xbox smartglass app. It will not pull it up when we try to put a message in or anything.

 

I've had this issue for 2 months, still haven't found a fix for it.. Hopefully you can find one, good luck.

If the same thing occurs, kindly sign in using a different Microsoft account in the Xbox app. Click this

Same here Dale they dont care I can sign in with my wifes profile hers is fine but mine isn't. Spoke to xbox support they said no issues with my account just be patient and eventually it will work its self out :-(

 

I have been having the same issue for about a week. Both my applications are updated, and the same thing happens on the Xbox (Beta) App.

My friends list will intermittently disappear, instead being replaced by "Something went wrong". Restarting the application will sometimes resolve the issue.

When trying to utilize the Looking for Group feature it never comes up with any groups. After about 15 seconds, the application force closes.

When trying to send a message to someone, the application will intermittently not bring up the person's Gamertag in the message. Sometimes upon refreshing, or restarting the app, I can fix the issue, and send someone a message.

Each of these issues began at the same time. I can use the Xbox website to send messages, and I can use my Xbox for Looking for Group completely fine.

 

Hi Clip V had the same problem this is what I did I jumped onto my Xbox One searched for a club and requested to join. Once I was accepted I jumped on the xbox and surprise I could see my friends list again did not change any settings give it a try. Must
be a bug with Microsoft somewhere.

Wow. That actually worked for me too. I've had this problem for 8-12 months and no reasonable fix would work. Found this thread and requesting to join a club seemed to fix it. I just requested to join a couple of clubs on the app (didn't even need to
be accepted), followed them, hit refresh on the app and my friends list finally loaded right up. If anybody else has been having this problem for a long time then try this. Thanks Doggaveli.

 

I'm glad I came back to this thread after 5 months and saw your post. This genuinely fixed my issue. I've had this issue for 8 months without a fix! As soon as I requested to join a club on the app, my friends list shows! Thanks alot for posting this, much
