Xbox app won't let me upload because of naming. (Even if name is appropriate)

There are several reasons that can cause this issue on the Xbox app. It is possible that the profile name that you want to use is already taken by another user.

To properly isolate your concern, kindly provide us the following information:

• Are you trying to put a title to the video clip that you recorded from Game DVR?
• Does the same issue occur when you are uploading a video clip from a different game?
• When was the last time that you were able to upload a video clip from Game DVR?

Microsoft has now changed my name as they thought it was appropriate but I have recieved a random name from Microsoft which is offensive to me and do not want it. I want to choose a new name and do not want to pay for it because Microsoft mid interpersted

Chances are that that gamertag is taken by someone else.

Gamertags are used on other Microsoft services ,not just xbox live,so it could be in use somewhere in the system.

It could also be linked to a banned account which is another reason why you can't use it.

With the new gamertag system you might be able to have that tag with a # & some numbers after it.

As from August 2019 if a gamertag does not sign into any of Microsofts services for 2 years it is then freed up unless it's linked to a banned account.

If the actual tag you are trying to use is "Nivedi of Nivedi Dodgess" then that tag is too long.You are limited to 12 characters on the xbox one.

I have a different problem with the party app. Me and my friend joined a party and it said he was connecting and then we left the party and then it had an x on his name when we came back to the party and we couldn't hear each other, then now it won't even
let him invite me to the party.

i called microsoft and they said that i was allowed to put the name on forums, the kid has my ip address. the problem is i can't even file a complaint on my xbox it won't let me use the option at all
