Xbox app won't download, and MS Flight Simulator will not download

    Xbox app won't download, and MS Flight Simulator will not download


    I recently purchased the new MS Flight Simulator for Christmas, but it appears I need the Xbox app to play it. I went to the Microsoft Store, clicked download the Xbox, it says it is downloading, then it says installing--but at the end it says "Something went wrong" and will go no farther. I get Error Code 0x80070005

    Game bar will also not launch for me, and Xbox live in-game experience also will not load.

    When I go to the Microsoft Flight Simulator website at

    https://www.xbox.com/en-us/games/store/microsoft-flight-simulator-standard-40th-anniversary-edition, it says that I do have the game, but when I click "launch" it does nothing.

    I have checked to make sure all my Windows Updates are installed

    I have done a "reset" of Game Bar and Xbox Live in my Apps settings

    I have turned off the setting in Accounts -> Sign In options -> "Use my sign in info to automatically finish setting up my device after an update or restart"

    I have tried running "sfc /scannow" in command prompt.

    What else can I do? I don't even get error codes most of the time, the app simply will not launch

    I need to re load Microsoft Flight sim and have loaded all ten discs but cant go any further. Before the loading system was change it was easy.

    The disc version of MS Flight Simulator 2020 for PC is significantly out of date and essentially unusable now. To play this game you will need to download the latest version. You should be able find the downloadable version in your digital library on the Xbox App.

    I think the larger issue here is that I seem not to be able to download anything from the store. I just tried out another app (Netflix) and the same problem. On the other hand I downloaded a MS Flight Simulator update a few days ago without a problem....

    It's not possible to play MS Flight Simulator completely offline and download the the entire game. The reason is because it's simply too big.

    The total size of Microsoft Flight Simulator on the server is absolutely massive! It's estimated to be around 2 petabytes, which is equivalent to 2,000 terabytes or 2 million gigabytes.
