Xbox App Won't Connect To Xbox One

Hi all, I having so many issues I'm getting really disheartend with the Linx setup I've bought. I had issues on the first day I brought it, and it turned out that after some windows updates it worked and everything was fine. I turned it on the next day
and I have issues again. In the Xbox app if I go to connect an Xbox appears there, if I try to connect it says it's unable to. I have rebooted my router, Xbox and tablet many times and this appears to make no difference. I have checked there no updates on
either the Xbox or Windows 10. All of the sharing functions are still enabled in the Xbox settings. I've doubled checked that the network is still the same, ie both on the same network. I have the smart glass app on my Windows 10 tablet and if I go to connect,
it connects no problem at all. I'm really confused, any help or suggestions would be really welcomed Martin

Connection tests fine, no xbox live service

I have the same issue and I'm also on Comcast. My Xbox One and the Xbox App (PC & Phone) won't connect to Xbox Live. When I disable the WiFi on my phone, the Xbox App connects to Xbox Live without issue. It must be an issue with Comcast.

 

Windows 10 Xbox app unable to connect to Xbox

I'm unable to connect to my Xbox from the Xbox app on my Windows 10 desktop. I'm able to connect from the Xbox app on my iPhone and Surface 3. I've tried resetting the app on my PC. The app lists the Xbox as available but won't connect when I click connect

 

Hi Acie, Sorry to hear your experiencing issues connecting your console. Can you try the following troubleshooting guide to see if it may help with your connection issues with the console? Although it references Smartglass its still applicable to the Xbox
App and the tips should work fine. Let us know how things turn out.

Thanks for the guide Best, but sadly to no avail. To summarise ; there both on the same network. Time and date and regional settings match. Smart glass and streaming are enabled. Isolation mode is disabled in my router and I don't have a dual router. I have
turned off the router and Xbox for 30 seconds also. After doing that I went into the app and click connect, Xbox appeared tried to connect it failed. I typed in the IP address of the Xbox and it said no Xbox found at that IP address. I confirmed on the Xbox
the address was correct. And using a app on my phone I did a network scan and I can happily see both the Xbox and the Windows 10 tablet.

Any other suggestions, I'm really stumped.

It still won't play ball. I am in the process of doing a factory reset on the vision tablet.

To help narrow down the issue, I got a new laptop today and it happens to have Windows 10 on. So out of curiosity I thought I would try and connect to my Xbox, it worked first time. I dident have to change anything on the laptop.

Why o why is there an issue on the tablet. I enter the IP address of the Xbox in the Xbox app and it says it can't find it, yet smart glass on the tablet works flawlessly.

 

Hi Acie, Can you provide the make and model of the tablet your using? I will present the info to the developers to see if they are aware of any known issues with that tablet model.

The tablet was bought in the Linxvision bundle. But the tablet itself is a vision 8" inch and the model number is vision004.

Thanks Acie for the additional info. One other question, the developers are curious if you were able to connect with Smartglass, or did that not work either? Also what version of the app were you using? Were you also experiencing connection issues using
Xbox App (Beta)? You can DL the beta version located here:
www.microsoft.com/.../9NBLGGH1J27H. Try it out if you have not and see if your able to connect or not. If the issue continues under feedback with the smiley face tab report this issue by using "Report a problem", this will provide helpful data for the developers
to investigate.

make sure that it is connected to the same internet network

 

I'm having the exact problem myself. Bought the Linx Vision 8 tablet on Sunday. After doing the updates to the tablet, though it struggled at first, it did eventually find my Xbox in the end and I was playing Alien: Isolation with no problems. Yesterday
and again this morning, i have been unable to get the tablet to connect at all. It finds the Xbox but just won't connect. There seems to be no further windows updates to install either. Seems to be the exact same issue Acie is having above. Has anyone found
a solution to this yet?

Sorry to hear you have the same issues as me. I never did get to the bottom of why. After trying and pulling my hair out serveral times (still have the bold patches) I did a factory reset on it, which reinstall the factory image of Windows 10. I then went
into my wifi settings and turned on metered connection, to disable windows updates. My Pad was worked perfectly ever since and connects each and every time. I know it perhaps not a ideal solution, but I don't use the pad or anything other than connecting to
my XBox.

Thanks for the reply Martin. I only want to use the tablet for streaming from the Xbox too, just to free up the main tv a bit really. I will happily try your workaround though. Hopefully it does the trick for me as well. Appreciate the tip.
