Xbox App wont connect to my Xbox One

I have the same issue, The app identifies my Xbox, i changed the name of the Xbox as well and the app sees it under the new name but wont connect

I've tried everything the xbox app and windows PC troubleshooting page tells me. I dont have access to a router as it is a college wifi.

Do you have a third party firewall or Anti Virus program running on your computer?

If so, can you temporarily disable or uninstall any third party firwall/antivirus programs and try to check if your laptop can connect again?

Just to make sure: You allowed the console in the settings to be able to be connected to to stream content?

Also, some routers prevent wireless devices to communicate with each other. Can you check your router settings if there is such a setting? Or try to connect both your console and laptop via ethernet cord to your router.

Also make sure that your devices are really both in the same subnetwork. You can't stream to a Laptop outside your local network.

If these suggestions don't help, please give us any details and troubleshooting steps you already tried.

So please don't say something like "I tried everything", but tell us exact steps like "I already disabled firewalls, tried ethernet cords and restarting the console."

Can you tell us what Troubleshooting you've tried so far? It could be the router settings. Have you tried toggling the Xbox app connectivity settings on the console? Settings>Preferences>Xbox app connectivity.

Make sure your xbox and app device are both on the same wifi network.
